Background of the office

The Central Ethiopia Regional state, through its administrative sector, has been working diligently since 2015 to implement the provisions of Articles 70 and 72 of the revised regional constitution. These articles grant powers and responsibilities to the Regional state Council and the Chief Administrator, enabling them to establish structures and processes from the regional level down to the kebele level. This effort aims to accelerate the region's economic and social development, promote democracy and good governance, and ensure that the community benefits from development initiatives.

The Office of the president and the state Council, along with the Offices of Advisors, Legal and Good Governance Affairs, the Grand Renaissance Dam Coordination Project Office, the Administration and Finance Sector, and other supporting directorates, have been organized to effectively carry out their mandates. These offices have completed foundational work process studies and established four mission-focused directorates, as well as other support directorates, to ensure the successful execution of their assigned tasks.

The operational units within the office are actively engaging and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of the daily activities of the Chief Administrator and the state Council. Their goal is fully to address the region's demands for development, peace, good governance, and democracy, while ensuring that the community actively participates in and benefits from the development process.
